I am currently thinking of the target market for Laconic jewellery, and I need your opinions. The jewellery seems to appeal to the more matured 'aunties' (and maybe some younger girls). Though that is true, many husbands also purchase jewellery for their wives. Therefore, the segment of the market the write-up must appeal to is the more 'matured' age group. Of course, I am not putting aside the possibility that teenage girls go window shopping at times (and rich ones buy them off the shelves!). Statistically, Daniel's fans consist primarily, though not exclusively, of teenage girls (and of course, young-at-heart aunties . So, the question is: What will make a parent go back and tell their child/wife about this club after shopping for jewellery?I think we have to position our club in a way to show that it blends in a lot of fun, but is also educational. What benefits can we derive from supporting Daniel? (i) A lot of fellowship-self-explanatory. Think about the amount of fun we have derived from the fellowship sessions. (ii) Up-to-date news-latest news about Daniel's ongoings. And best of all, Daniel comes in whenever he has the time to. (iii) Things we learn from each other/Exchanging experiences- Aunties and Uncles forum/ Boys and Girls chat. I think these two threads make us vastly different from any normal fan club. (iv) Education-I think this will make us really special in the eyes of the parents. If we can set up a permanent thread for school-going forummers to share problems and ask academic questions, parents will really like it. I have done this before in various forums, and it is really beneficial. (v) Uncle (Idolhunter), this may sound a little superficial, but can we bring up that you and your family are anchoring this club? The club will appear as being much more stable when other people know that Daniel's family members are personally involved. Just my 2 cents worth of comments. Please do give me your opinions and suggestions.I know this is lengthy, but I have made it as short as possible P.S. Teng, I know you dislike my long postings, but read this one for Daniel's sake k?

Reminder, don't simply use the trade mark ---> Malaysian Idol (TM) unless u get permission from Fremantlemedia. We are just stating that he is the Malaysian Idol winner...there is no need to get permission for that. you don't get it , do you? If it's just stating facts, it's okay..we are not using the Malaysian Idol logo (in the special cursive writing, etc)..And we're not using for profit anyway. The trademark is not specifically on the words "Malaysian Idol" itself, you get what I mean? We are associating it with Daniel , who IS the champion. Anyway, I understd a few people are in the process of drawing images for this ad... haha...happy creating.. And I know this Laconic place...from my observations, it is frequented by a lot of young fashion conscious guys. They got all kinds of assessories for both guys and girls. Remember, our Ad is to promote the Daniel's official website...and the DFC! focus...focus...

Just an addendum to my bro's post: I think we also have to consider the return on investment that the future DFC members and the fan club site browsers would obtain. If there were to be quite a number of working business men, what uncle Idolhunter could do is probably open a gateway to networking and sharing of experiences. Afterall, sharing real-life examples is the core to learning. That's for the business men. For ladies, specifically home-makers, we could set up a new thread to spark discussions between them ie recipes or new dishes for their beloved family members Or for those extrovert mothers/ladies, we could probably expand their creativity by suggesting possible ways to dress sophisticatedly and look flamboyant. Since the target market would skew more towards the adults, we could get them to encourage their children who were thoroughly excited about MI2 to visit the forum. But, we also have to consider their academic excellence (something that would make many parents rant and rave if not achieved) Therefore, we could set up threads on intellectual discussions, or maybe a homework thread. In this case, we could get those who are more superior in this aspect to help out. This would beget a diversed fan club covering all segments of the market hence making the fan club beneficial to all. In this case, we can almost guarantee a positive ROI If we are successful in catching their attention and interest, we could embark on our journey to promote the fan club and Daniel in the cyber world. This could probably be done by: (i) Providing the latest updates on Daniel's progress in the entertainment arena (ii) If possible, offer privileges to members of the fan club (iii) Also provide the best downloads of any programmes related to Daniel Just some suggestions. Might take some time, but it's still feasible

Well if you think that my involvement will benefit..go ahead and use it..if it's for Daniel...just do it... ;D and your ideas for the write up is good.. OK... make it brief and simple...parents are always lazy to read.. ;D keep that in mind.. they only look for striking words... so try to use short phrases.. eg... EDUCATION ... bla bla.. FAMILY...bla.bl.a A FORUM FOR LEARNING.. blabla.. thanks...

Kenrick, What do you think about this?? Of course we find a better pic of Daniel..and use this as the headings... His star quote... Winning or losing is part of competition. What is more important, is that we give our best and are confident. We must also be able to accept whatever comes.. Daniel Lee Chee Hun, the Malaysian Idol for season II

Well of course we will want to do this...but we have to built our base first..our foundation is still very weak.. infact the cement is still wet ;D ;D..we just built the ground floor only and still without a roof ;D Yes Great ideas from you...and we are sure heading into this direction but let's built our roof first...
