I don't mean to offend anyone and i'm not implying anyone is guilty of this. Personally my english is not perfect or anything but if one has been to international forums they usually encourage the use of proper english as in the people there to not type like "dis or dat or tat" the reason being that it is not a short message and the poster has alot of time to type and spell things in full.
Recently I saw a post on a international blog community where someone wrote a post using alot of short forms and the response she/he got from the community were generally negative most of them replied saying "the way you type is so annoying" or "its so hard to read what you wrote". My point being if Daniel goes international this habbit of ours has to be stopped. So i suggest that if possible it be in the rules where one has to type in full and not use shorthands...
Also although this doesn't happen in Daniel's forum but I think it should be in the rules where people should be encouraged not to "TyPe LiKe ThiS" as this also makes sentences harder to read...
Last of all I hope you all forgive me if i have offended any of you in this post...I'm awfully sorry about it. This is just a suggestion... please don't take my post to heart...
mods: if you feel my post is inapropriate please feel free to modify it or delete it...

For me i'm used to typing in full already because of the forums i visit... only have problem with using capital letters^^;;

hmm I'm not saying you can't spell in full... anyway its your choice I'm just suggesting because the intl community I think don't really like the use of shorthands... and its a good practice in a way^^;;

uhmm.. would hav lots of problem when replacing the "u" with you and sometimes just for fun....
i think we shouldnt impose too strict a rule, as it takes the fun out of forumming.... it should be a place to relax...
anyway, i am totally against those who are playing with upper and lower case ( TyPe LiKe ThIS ) .

Being too formal in forum might appear as military practice.... yet being too informal in ways of expression could cause misleading in understand and might annoy others as they not used to it...
So, why would we start practice it now by conduct the proper english and prevent the habits of using short-form & singlish.... Is not a rule you need to follow and obey but there not harm in trying =D

Dear Pinkies, ;D I always try to use the proper English whenever I can, well maybe for me is abit different because I always comunicate internationally so we have to use the proper English inorder that we may not be misunderstood..well thats business... ;D Now we come to forums, ;D when I see people writing... HeLLo ThErE ! NiCe To SeE .. I dont read them but I skip, I cannot "tahan".. my eyes just can't link to my brain ;D but I also think the use of proper English all the time, will also kill the mood and environment of this forum.. eg. alamak !! die lah ;D ;D and Oh this time I am in trouble Aiyooo.. sooo cute wan lah... ;D ;D and Oh he is so cute U see .. proper English will kill the mood.. ;D so we must have a mix of proper and some local remarks use in the forum to give us our identity.. Use your own judgement, certain topics n threads, the use of proper English is need, then you should use them but when u know that in certain threads, we have fun.. well then.. use what u wan.. afterall its for the fun.. that we are in the forum.. I will not set it as a rule that we must use proper English at al times.. but make your own judgement when U should use them. This is just my opinion..

I think that we all can change our English to more formal gradually but not suddenly. It's too hard to change my unformal english to proper english suddenly. Feel very uncomfortable to type the word carefully..
