Sorry, not sure where to fit in this one, so, start new thread.... Sometimes we get info that is only valid for the day... Some info is good and is sth that we refer to time and time again... Some examples: 1.. Ren's instruction on photobucket. I know most ppl know how to do this, but some dont. today, I had to find the post and paste for that person... Also, when I went to regsiter yesterday, I had to 'find' the post... 2. JB's post on voting system, dedications and stuff... 3. Events announcements. For the myfm chart voting number for example - it changes everyday. So if we a notice board that update the number, so those who are new or dont know chinese can just go there and get info. I wonder if the club could have some kind of noticeboard or infobank where ppl dont post their chats, but we can access for reference.....

Jwong, I have thought of that but then eventually it will be so many that we will have to search again...back to square one.. ;D But I can teach U a way.... Now open yr notepad at all times... so when u find something interesting in the forum... copy the http: address and paste it in yr notepad.. and write a little remark.. such as..."bygone pics" "good tools - photobucket tips" or heaven knows clips.. Now once u have all this notepad info files... to search them is very easy... just open yr notepad.. and type *bygone*...u will have all the bygone filenames listed out u or type *photob* - all file names of photob....will be listed out.. then copy the http:links and presto.. u are there again.. ;D

Thanks JB. Your suggestion I can manage... Mr Idolhunter is too high tech for me... ???I thought maybe this notepad thing is same buku nota ..... Maybe now that the forum is new, there is no problem searching for info.. But give the forum some time, searching for useful info for forumers generally may not so simple... Like the BH, so many pages of the Daniel thread just for titles only [it took me weeks to go thru all of them to learn things or do downloads, I still havent finish, but I have given up, since I reckon I have 'harvested' most of the useful info I need ;D ;D ;D].... In the Krees and the BH forum there were some threads on instructions to vote for charts and stuff (mechanism), and there are some helpful comments (feedback) there.... For the uninformed, its not easy to find them!!! These were dated some time back, and the ppl concerned had done valuable research that took much time. That little bit of info on MYFM chart took more than an hour to gather ..... If info is difficult to find, ppl cannot participate or help... For example, today someone voted the wrong song number for FEI, instead of vote 18, this person voted 22. Ppl who frequent the forum and read thru the posts from Day 1 knows what to do. What about new ppl or younger members whose comp time is limited?? I just feel that for activity that we want everyone (or most ppl) to do, a kind of a NOTICEBOARD allows ppl to get the info better.... Perhaps I am confused about the role of a forum versus a web page....... Anyway, appreciate your response on the matter ......

a forum is an outlet for everyone to express their thoughts and shares informations.... kind of 100% participations from the admins to members..
while for a webpage, is more "informations ready" for those who are looking for the news and infos...totally handled by the webs administrative ppls... surfers can only check out the web page to read, or post limited comments ( if there are any shoutbox available or comments box ).. usually they allow guest signbooks...

I hope there would be a pop-up window or something that will be displayed upon sign-in with information about the next coming event. This would be easier to see rather than scanning the threads in that section.

Actually i find pop-ups annoying... in fact nowadays most new explorers have built in pop-up blockers like firefox. I think the webpage idea by chilicandy is more apporpriate as a forum is like a place ofr people to trade views. Another alternative would be to open a section in the forum dedicated to just place to find important things like chart votings and all and in that part of the forum only admins are allowed to post on top of that the replying option should also be disable so that only the important info will be there and there would be no need to look through hundreds of pages to find what we actually want.
