The translation:
Lee Chee Hun enjoying Taiwan's winter
Daniel¡¯s mood story in Taipei
After winning MI, I have a jam-packed schedule and my new album was released in the end of last year, I did not have time for a proper rest. Hence in December last year, I informed my record company that I needed a long leave to ¡®recharge¡¯! I hoped that they would arrange less job for me. As I have been to Taiwan and stayed there for a period of time, when my friends from Taiwan gave me long-distance calls, I missed those days in Taiwan. Therefore I chose to spend my holidays in Taiwan visiting friends, enjoying the winter time and savouring Taiwan delicacies! According to weather forecast, the temperature during winter in Taiwan is about 15C.If there is cold current, it will decrease to 10C. As Malaysia is summer all year round, I was excited to have the opportunity to spend the winter in Taiwan!
At last, I could go shopping ¡¡
When I arrived at Taiwan, the temperature was 18C. During winter, I love to enjoy hot soup, hence in Taiwan, I would not miss steamboat! Though I also love to have steamboat in Malaysia, I would be all sweat after having it. Having steamboat in winter would not make one sweat but would warm one instead! My friends and I chattered away for a few hours while treating ourselves to the steamboat. It was not until the shop was about to close that we were willing to leave!
Besides touring Taiwan, having a good rest and enjoying the good food, I did not forget to window shop or shop! Due to work, I seldom have time to window shop. Therefore this trip to Taiwan was time for me to add some new clothes to my wardrobe! I had a strange thought that if I bought clothes in Taiwan, chances that I and the other artiste happen to wear the same clothes during promo tours would be less! Besides I would not be recognized while shopping in Taiwan. I could window-shop or shop at ease. This oversea trip was a rare opportunity for me, hence I must get some gifts and souvenirs for my family members, crew who have made great contributions, and of course fans who have been supporting me all along. And through China Press & 8 e-News, lucky fans can walk away with these souvenirs.
The first time selling sweets.
Coincidentally, it was the CNY holidays, many were on annual leaves. My friend who works in a sweets store had to work. I paid him a visit at his work place. Before releasing my album, I worked as a salesman selling computers and software. But it was my first time selling sweets. It had been quite some time I did not [ pao tou lu mien] (show my face in public). It was a refreshing experience to convince passers by to buy the sweets! There were a couple who could not help but bought 1500 New Taiwan Dollar( about RM180) of sweets after I kept recommending them the sweets! My friends jokingly said :[If you decide not to be an artiste, u can sell sweets. Don¡¯t worry that you will be starved to death!]
When my friends and I were queuing up to buy the famous [oh zai mie xian] at Xi Men Ding, I was recognized by a Malaysian family who were in Taiwan for a tour. That was the most unforgettable incident!
The one-week tour in Taiwan had soon come to an end. I had a nice time eating, drinking, touring and shopping there. The second day in Malaysia I had to start work! I really miss the holidays because first of all, I got to get together with my family for CNY, then I went overseas for a tour and visited friends. It was a substantial holiday!
I have a wish for the year 2006, I hope to go to Taiwan again, but this time I hope to bring along my album to share my music there and to promote my album! Jia You lah!
Pic. The filial Daniel did not forget to get a gift for his Mum. Daniel and friends were savouring the hot and spicy steamboat. Though he enjoys hot and spicy food, he had to admit that the steamboat was a bit too hot for him.
