Idolhunter: Very serious topic and its really about philosophy and religion on your question ... Now I can see the dark side of yours... ;D But isn't it good to be Here in this world... that u can embrace your son's outstanding performances??? Yes, I am happy and proud that I can embrace him.. sorry I hope its not a sad story.... I thought it was more of a theory that I can reason and live on... ;D

to me.. we are here to make others happy.. n of course ourselve..... we should enjoy our life to the fullest.. den we wont regret at the end of the day.. like wat idolhunter had said... sum ppl have tons n tons of problem.. n vice versa... why??? those who have tons of problem is because u THINK too much.... don think so much.. take it easy... theres always a way to solve our problem.. jus dat.. when will we noe the way we need to solve our problem.. n don hide from ur problems.. the more u hide.. the bigger ur problem is.... i always say this to my frens.. 'smile n be happy always. live life to the fullest.. u might not noe. maybe tomolo u r dead.. so have fun while u can..' make ur life as interesting as u can.. cuz u r the lead actress/actor in ur own movie.. be happy no matter wat happen.. cuz even u cry u cant change it.. am i talking to much?? haha... jus my point of view..

We are here coz its a gift from GOD . and we are born in a perfect way also a gift from GOD . we are here for Daniel too ! ;D ;D ;D ;D take a look at rumah saleha....the hiv kids.. why are they born to suffer "perfectly" here...and it's not even their fault? meaning to say GOD's gifts are also unfair? or is there such a thing as "fair"? uncle , to me . LIFE is definately UNFAIR ! If it was fair , we wont have people having HIV , cancer etc . There is lotsa things , that we dont know why it happened . I guess this is LIFE >_<"

WHY AM I HERE?
When I was in my early 20s, this Q used 2 bug me a lot. I felt tt I hv 2 do something important, i.e. to leave my mark.
I think, in order to understand why we are here, we need to know who we are. For the Chinese race, all our behaviours, whether overseas or mainland (despite more than 50 years of communism) there are many behavioural practices still deeply embedded in our culture. In my opinion, I found this answer from elementary classical Chinese study, in San Zi Jin (this used 2 be the 1st book taught to 4 or 5 years old in traditional Chinese children up to before the end of Qing Dynasty. I understand tt it inculcates the teachings of Laozi and Confucius. In KL, there was a shu jai that taught San Zi Jin until the early 70s.
Whatever we turned out 2 b is in our DESTINY. Some are destined 4 greatness. A case in point is Daniel (his best years are from ages 30 to 50). Some are there to help others 2 achieve greatness, perhaps u may fall into this category. While most of us nevertheless hv 2 do our minor part in life, hopefully 4 the betterment of our family and friends. However I don´t take DESTINY as permanent, one 2 a certain extent determines our destiny, there is such a thing as “san chai je, tian, di, ren” or “ yi ming, er yun, san feng shui, si du shi shu, wu sou de.”
Why and how one behaviours, among other things, is affected by the SEVEN SINS of pride, greed, power, etc (in christianity). I think the Hindus and Buddhists believe in KARMA.(www.ncf.carleton.ca/freenet/rootdir/menus/sigs/religion/buddhism/introduction/truths/karma2.html)
If I hv interpreted correctly, Deepak Chopra seemed to indicate that all the woes in the world are caused by negative thoughts. Imagine one person with negative thoughts affecting the whole community, then the whole country and perhaps the whole world. He thinks that we need to balance the good thoughts so that there are less negativity. I think if each of us could make this a better place for our family, friend and things important to us, hence more PEACEFUL place 2 b.
Currently, I find Paolo Coelho´s short stories on his experiences, a most interesting reading.
Finally, don´t think too hard, we are here simply to perpetuate MANKIND. Take a leaf from the animal kingdom, how the mama animal always protects their young. It is a basic instinct, encoded in the genes and to learn and encode new techniques for the SURVIVAL of the species, in essence - EVOLUTION.
Idol hunter, I hope this could b discussed further by the forumers, so tt we cld exchange thoughts on this. Perhaps then, we could find the ANSWER. My apology 4 the lecture and longwindedness. kwfong
DISCLAMIER: The above is my personal opinion. I hope I hv not quoted anything wrongly.
