Hello everyone. Since the exam fever is on, I opened this thread for discussions on academic questions. We are of that certain age range, and I just thought that this would be a chance to spark off some academic discussions. Do ask questions within the syllabus like 1. Compare the laissez-faire with an economic system which is completely regulated by the government. and outside the syllabus. For example (for those who have the time, try this out!): 1. Why is it said that nothing can move faster than the speed of light? 2. Why is it that animals do not photosynthesise? P.S. I am taking the Worldwide Malaysian Students' Network website as my model. Do visit it at www.recom.org if interested. Happy discussing! ;D

Sorry, should have made it a bit clearer. As a summary, this thread is something like homework help. If you cannot answer a question at school or are intrigued by some factual question, post it here and let's see whether others can help you solve it. If participation is encouraging, we can get the best of fun and education in this forum. ;D (And we have another reason to give our parents when they ask us why we visit this forum so often ..haha)

pegawai itu memperakukan bahawa salinan sijil itu adalah sah setelah melihat sijil asal yang d**emukakan kepadanya. tiada kesalahan
so, wadz the answer u think?

Hi genie. Thanks for sharing. I have not done BM for two years already, but I am very sure (after consulting my post-BM-SPM sister) that the answer is A memperakukan. 'bahawa' should not come after a '-kan'. Other examples of wrong sentences: mengena kan pada bajunya. Should be mengenakan or mengena pada, I think. ;D

2. Why is it that animals do not photosynthesise?
Something to do with the 'kanji' (forgot what's it call in english) one right? Hehe! Or was it the vakuol?
Ok, i'll try to find some cuisine questions to ask you guys.. muahaha!

lol..animal cant do photosynthesis is because.. they do not have photosynthetic pigments (such as chlorophyll) to adsorb light and convert to chemical energy..thus they have to inhale living things to gain chemical energy... so animals are not producers..xP..

1. Wahhh.... this is something about the time-particle theory.... which i dun really know how to elaborate.... >.< 2. like shinghui said.... Animal do not possess ps pigments Now.... I also give some questions for you guyz to think..... it is not really out of syllabus tho.... 1. After the Tsunami 26 Dec 2004, Coconut trees are found to stand still on the seashore while the other trees were swept away. Coincidently, Coconut trees are found successful in those typhoon and hurricane region. Give some reasons why coconut trees can resist to these natural forces? 2. "In nature, space is vital", using your knowledge about animals, discuss the statement and give examples. ;D ;D My exam questions this morning..... ;D ;D and this is Uni Year 3 exam..... >.<

this is a physics/chemistry question..........
like charges repel, opposite charges attract, right?
then why on earth can electrons stay in their orbits which surrounds an atom? Why aren't they attracted to the protons which are in the nucleus? According to the what the rules say, electrons will be attracted to the protons and will 'cling' to the protons in the nucleus....

Not sure the answer, but i not really agree with the explanation of no 'bahawa' after 'kan'. For me, i normally start my formal letter with 'xxxxkan bahawa'. eg. : Merujuk kepada......, dimaklum'kan' "bahawa".... ;D The answer is B? Maybe the proper word to replace 'melihat' is menyemak kua?

hmmmm..... I thought "me_kan bahawa" is a special case? normally after me_kan shud not have "tentang".... but "bahawa" is a special case that it can be use after me_kan..... hmmm.... SPM BM was 4 years apart from me.... LOL

i think.. in the earth crust..there are a lot of chemical substances..like larva.. they are moving and they bring electrons around..thus u know aora? d sheets on the sky with colours...they are because of it..thus it related to ur question?lol

This thread seems to be proceeding well. ;D
Genie: I still strongly believe that the answer is A. Though there are more suitable words for melihat, the best answer from a grammatical perspective is A.
Now, the question on photosynthesis:
Okay, the direct answer is that animals don't have chlorophyll. But then why don't and shouldn't they have chlorophyll? From the theory of evolution, wouldn't the presence of chloroplasts increase the adaptability of animals, in the sense that they can produce energy-storage molecules?
Question on why electrons don't crash into the nucleus
If you do have an STPM/A-Level book for physics, do refer to the chapter on circular motion. It is of great help!
I believe that the answer (briefly explained)is that the electrons have a velocity tangential to the line of action of the electrostatic forces between the opposite charges. The attraction between the nucleus and the electrons provide the centripetal force-do find out about it for the electrons to move in an orbit.
However there is still a lot of debate as to whether this is true. Electron spins and magnetic fields have not be taken into account. ;D
Question on the speed of light Wah, hoyohoyo, time-particle duality....interesting,interesting. ;D...I think this does have something to do with the answer.
There is still no absolute answer to this question-can't find it anywhere online. The best I have is an empirical evidence and one on the theory of relativity.
